Comparison

Aurevia vs MatrixGold.

MatrixGold, from Gemvision and Stuller, is established jewellery CAD that runs on Rhino. Aurevia is a newer AI jewellery studio that builds a first CAD model from a brief or a photo. They suit different teams.

Here is a fair comparison, using Stuller’s own MatrixGold pages as of October 2026.

What both do

  • Produce parametric jewellery models you can change after they are built.
  • Make photoreal images to show a client before the piece is made.
  • Work with Rhino .3dm files and STL for printing.

Where MatrixGold is stronger

  • A mature, full CAD toolset. Its parametric history lets you change any step later.
  • A large content library of pre-built parts to start a design quickly.
  • Clayoo for organic modelling, and a Render Studio for client images.
  • Backed by Stuller, which offers phone and email support and also casting, setting and finishing services.
  • Version 4.0 (May 2026) added tools such as Scoop, for hollowing to a wall thickness, and a Custom Gem Builder.

Where Aurevia is different

  • No CAD training needed. Describe the piece or upload a customer’s photo, and the engine builds the model.
  • Design and client tools around the model: research, sketches, model photoshoots, try-on and costing with live Indian metal rates.
  • Measured design sheets with views, dimensions and estimated metal weight, ready to share.
  • Monthly rupee pricing instead of a US$5,995 upfront purchase.
  • The limit: access to Aurevia’s own CAD engine is limited while it is tested; studios get it by demo. A trained MatrixGold designer has far more control over every detail.

Which should you choose?

Choose MatrixGold if you have, or will train, a CAD designer and want a proven toolkit with a parts library and US-based support.

Choose Aurevia if you want to go from client photos to a first model, renders and sheets without a CAD seat, priced in rupees. Aurevia’s .3dm and STEP files can still go to a MatrixGold designer for final work.

Questions about Aurevia and MatrixGold

Is Aurevia a MatrixGold alternative?

For some studios. If you need a CAD designer’s full toolkit, MatrixGold is built for that. If you want to start from a customer’s photo and get a first model, renders and a measured sheet without CAD training, Aurevia is the different route.

Does MatrixGold have AI?

We found no AI features on Stuller’s MatrixGold pages or in its 4.0 release notes as of October 2026. Its strengths are parametric history, a parts library and rendering.

How much does MatrixGold cost?

Stuller lists MatrixGold with Rhinoceros at US$5,995. That includes a MatrixGold licence, a Rhino 8 licence, six months of MatrixGold membership and technical support. Other upgrade prices are on Stuller’s website.

Can a MatrixGold designer use Aurevia’s files?

Yes. Aurevia exports Rhino .3dm and STEP files, which open in Rhino, where MatrixGold runs.
